Eastbound I-40 shut down at Carlisle due to crash

All lanes of eastbound Interstate 40 are closed Saturday afternoon following a crash at Carlisle.

Gilbert Gallegos, an Albuquerque police spokesman, said one person was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital and another motorist “also suffered injuries.”

He said that the southbound Interstate 25 to eastbound I-40 onramp is blocked and northbound I-25 to eastbound I-40 traffic is being diverted onto westbound I-40.
