ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police are investigating the beating of a suspected prowler that left him hospitalized in critical condition, after the man was seen allegedly naked and peeking into the window of a room shared by two teenage girls at a westside residence, police said.
Violent crimes detectives were investigating circumstances “surrounding a battery that left one man hospitalized in critical condition,” Albuquerque police spokeswoman Tasia Martinez said in an e-mail.
She added that she was waiting to be briefed on what information she could release. Police responded to a call of a prowler just after 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Corriz Drive and Garnet Ave. SW.
When officers arrived, they found a naked man badly beaten on the street.
Three men at the scene, later identified as relatives or friends of the family of the teenage girls, were detained and were scheduled to be interviewed Thursday, Martinez said.
“Detectives will work with the District Attorney to determine possible charges pending the interview of the three detained men,” Martinez said.
