ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Update: Rio Rancho Public Schools spokeswoman Kim Vesely has sent out an updated advisory on the status of RRPS buses. She said one lane of Northern Boulevard westbound was reopened, allowing the district to bus Eagle Ridge Middle School students home as usual.
Parents of students at certain Rio Rancho Public Schools are being asked to pick up their children at school, due to flooding that has washed out roads and made them unsafe for school buses.
The affected schools and bus routes are: Colinas del Norte Elementary 481 and 468, Eagle Ridge Middle 483 and 206, Rio Rancho High 469, Puesta del Sol Elementary 266, Rio Rancho Middle 466, and Cleveland High 264.
District spokeswoman Kim Vesely said the situation is changing frequently as roads are cleaned up and made passable again. The district is communicating with affected parents through the school’s phone notification system.
