ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Craft beer makers and craft beer lovers will convene Saturday at Albuquerque Hopfest.
The event at Isleta Resort & Casino features more than 60 breweries from New Mexico and around the United States serving up their specialty brews for tasting and purchasing. The event is from 2-6 p.m. Saturday.
Participating New Mexico breweries include Back Alley Draft House, Cazuela’s, Duel Brewing, Il Vicino Brewing Co., Kelly’s Brew Pub, Marble Brewery, Sierra Blanca & Rio Grande Brewing Co., New Mexico Craft Brewing, Sandia Chile Grill & Brewery, Santa Fe Brewing Co., and Tractor Brewing Co.
Alaskan Brewing Co. out of Alaska and Kona Brewing Co. from Hawaii are making the long treks to be part of the event. Many other breweries from around the nation including California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, Texas and Washington are participating.
Several brewries from Colorado including TommyKnocker Brewery out of Idaho Springs, Colo., will bring a taste of the Rockies to Albuquerque.
A little bit of the Big Easy will be part Hopfest. Abita Beer, located just outside of New Orleans, is bringing its Antigator, Purple Haze and Turbodog to the party.
Music from nine bands on three stages will keep things hopping.
Your attendance at the event also helps a good cause. Hopfest raises funds for Make-A-Wish New Mexico.
Non-sampling tickets are $10, general admission for those age 21 and older is $25 online, $30 at the gate; extra-hoppy hour for those age 21 and older is $35 online, $40 at the gate and VIP tickets are $50 online and $55 at the gate. For tickets and information, visit albuquerquehopfest.com.
