The University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center earned accolades for patient satisfaction with a Guardian of Excellence Award from Press Ganey Associates.
The award was presented today at Press Ganey’s 2013 national Client Conference in Orlando, Fla. It recognizes facilities that achieved the top 95th percentile in patient satisfaction as measured by criteria such as satisfaction with the admission and discharge process, quality of the rooms and food and patient interaction with doctors, nurses and staff, according to a release from the UNM Health Sciences Center.
“Our physicians, nurses and staff work hard every day to ensure that patients are treated courteously and compassionately,” Paul Roth, UNM’s Chancellor for Health Sciences, in the release.
Press Ganey was founded in 1985. It partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including 5,000 U.S. hospitals to measure and improve patient experience, the release said.
