ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A memorial service is scheduled Friday in Santa Fe for John Dendahl, a former state Republican Party chairman and gubernatorial candidate who died two weeks ago in Denver.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. John’s College, where Dendahl served as chairman of the board.
He died Nov. 9 of complications from treatment for leukemia. He was 75.
A native of Santa Fe, he spent most of his life in the city, moving to Littleton, Colo., in 2007.
Dendahl’s business career included serving as CEO of Eberline Instrument Corp., vice president of Thermo Electron Corp., and president of First National Bank of Santa Fe. He was a member of the State Investment Council and secretary of Economic Development and Tourism.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Tumbarella; five daughters: Debra Hadley, Katherine Dendahl, Lisa West, Ellie Dendahl Thurston and Karen Dendahl; four grandchildren, two step-children and seven step-grandchildren.
