SANTA FE, N.M. — The mystery guest was not much of a mystery.
To the surprise of few, Santa Fe Mayor David Coss endorsed Javier Gonzales this morning in the mayoral race to be decided March 4.
With Gonzales’ family and supporters looking on and holding campaign signs, Coss called the former Santa Fe County Commissioner the best man for the job.
“I don’t know if it was that big of a mystery guest,” Coss told the crowd, referring to fliers touting today’s event at the Center for Peace and Justice in Santa Fe. “I am pleased and excited to endorse Javier Gonzales.”
Gonzales faces incumbent council members Bill Dimas and Patti Bushee in the race mayor’s race. Coss served for eight years and said he now wants to do other things with his life.
