UNM hospital administrator retires

RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Kevin Rogols the president and CEO of the Sandoval County Regional Medical Center in the Rio Rancho city center has retired.

Jamie Silva-Steele a long time administrator in the University of New Mexico hospital system has taken over as interim CEO while a search is underway for a permanent replacement. She has worked at UNM SRMC as its Chief Operating Officer for the last four months.

Rogols took over as administrator in July 2010 as groundwork was underway for the building of the 68-bed hospital that opened in July 2012.

Rogols came to New Mexico from Fort Plains, Colo., where he was CEO of Colorado Plains Medical Center.

Silva-Steele introduced herself to Rio Rancho city councilors at their meeting on Wednesday. She said she has spent 29 years working in the UNM hospital system as a nurse and administrator.
