Rural areas of New Mexico are facing the worst shortages of health providers in the state. Pictured at right is Sharon Fobers Knight, who last week was waiting to be seen at La Clinica del Pueblo de Rio Arriba in Tierra Amarilla, 10 miles south of Chama. The clinic, which has been trying to hire a physician for more than three years, relies on four mid-level medical providers. (Roberto E. Rosales/Albuquerque Journal)
