SANTA FE, N.M. — Chris Eyre, a film director and chair of The Film School at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, will join the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival’s Advisory Board, according to a news release from that organization.
“We are all for the continuum of storytelling as a living culture that only independent audiences and filmmakers can provide…,” stated Eyre in the news release.
Eyre received the festival’s American Filmmaker Award in 2012. In 1998, he directed and produced his first film, Sundance’s Audience Award winner “Smoke Signals.” He also directed “Skins” and “Hideaway.”
“Not only is Chris Eyre a top film director, he is an integral part of the filmmaking community in Santa Fe and therefore a perfect fit for the advisory board,” said Jacques Paisner, the festival’s executive director and co-founder.
