UNM football: staff complete

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — As reported earlier by the Journal, Kevin Cosgrove is the New Mexico Lobos’ new defensive coordinator. Head coach Bob Davie made the official announcement on Friday.
Cosgrove, a college coaching veteran beginning his third year at UNM, will continue as the Lobos inside linebackers coach. As defensive coordinator he replaces Jeff Mills, who was fired after the 2013 season.
Davie on Friday also confirmed the hiring of Charles McMillian as defensive backs coach and Barry Sacks as defensive line coach. McMillian was Prairie View A&M’s defensive coordinator last season. Sacks was California’s defensive tackles coach.
Archie McDaniel, who coached UNM’s defensive line coach the past two years, will coach the outside linebackers in 2014.
McMillian replaces Mills as defensive backs coach. Coleman Hutzler, the outside linebackers coach the past two years, took a job at Florida.
