SANTA FE, N.M. — Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies chased down, Tasered and arrested a suspect in an alleged domestic violence incident Thursday night in Santa Fe.
William D. Cypress was booked into the Santa Fe County jail on charges of battery against a household member, resisting or obstructing an officer and interference with communications, said a criminal complaint filed in Santa Fe Magistrate Court.
Deputies were called to Mosca Peak at about 10 p.m. where a woman told them “he’s running out the back door.” Deputies chased Cypress, 43, through a laundry room, into the garage and into an alley where he scuffled with deputies and was Tasered, said the complaint.
According to the complaint, the woman in the home said Cypress came home drunk and argued with her before banging his head against a wall and then grabbed a fork and started to stab his stomach. He then allegedly grabbed her cellphone when she tried to call for help and broke it.
