No injuries after fire at Chaparral Elementary

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Firefighters scrambled this morning to extinguish a fire that broke out at Chaparral Elementary School, and no one was injured.

The fire was coming from an area of the school, on the 6300 block of Milne NW, that is under construction. Fire crews fought the fire and, with help from the school’s sprinkler system, were able to keep the blaze from spreading.

The fire’s cause is under investigation. Crews responded around 10 a.m. this morning.
