ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Because finding the perfect companion takes a little luck, the city’s Animal Welfare Department is holding a special event Saturday titled “Find Your Lucky Charm Pit Bull Adoption.”

It’s from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Petsmart, 10248 Coors Bypass NW, and it’s for current pit bull owners as well as those thinking about adoption.

Participants also include Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Center.

There’ll be a $40 adoption fee for all pitties and their mixes 1 year and older, and that includes spay/neuter, shots and microchip.
