Charmin donates year’s supply of TP for fire fighters

Rio Rancho fire fighters can rest assured that they won’t get caught short on a visit to the little room over the next year.

Cincinnati, Ohio-based Proctor & Gamble, maker of Charmin toilet paper is donating nearly 50,000 rolls of their household name product to firehouses in every state. That works out to 960 rolls per fire house or a year’s supply of toilet paper for 20 fire fighters, according to a company news release.

Rio Rancho Fire Department took delivery of its share, 11 boxes of the soft white stuff, on Wednesday.

They will be stored at the department’s administrative headquarters on Stephanie Rd. and distributed to the city’s seven fire stations as needed, said Fire Inspector Jessica Duron-Martinez.

The donation is part of the Charmin Relief Project “which provides a better bathroom experience anytime, anywhere,” the company release said.

“Since firehouses often serve as a second home for many firefighters, Charmin wants to bring the comforts of home to these everyday heroes,” the release said.
