Horn is the first Stars player to advance to a higher league this season.
Stars coach Dominic Bramante said he was both happy and sad to see Horn move on.
“You hate to lose the best offensive lineman in your league, but this isn’t his level,” Bramante said. “The Arena League isn’t his level, either. He’s that good.
“He just has to get his upper-body strength to where it needs to be.”
Horn, a member of the Cheyenne Nation who played at the University of Montana, was a member of the Chicago Bears in 2011 and was on their active roster for one game but didn’t play, according to the team. In 2012, he was in camp with the Minnesota Vikings before being cut in late August.
Another Stars player, Roosevelt Falls, who plays defense and fullback, is trying out for the Canadian Football League’s Edmonton Eskimos this week.
The Stars have a bye this week before traveling to Amarillo to face the Venom on May 3.
