ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Students who have dreamed about throwing out the first pitch now have their chance.
The Albuquerque Isotopes are sponsoring the Student’s Choice Top Educator Essay Contest, in which students are asked to write about their appreciation for a teacher, principal, librarian, coach or other educator.
The subject of the winning essay and the student will get free tickets to Educators’ Appreciation Game Night at Isotopes Park on May 23 and they’ll get to throw the first pitch.
The contest is open to APS traditional and alternative school students in grades K-12. Writers are limited to 200 words and their submission can be in the form of a poem or thank you. To download the entry form, go to aps.edu/education-foundation and look on the left side of the page.
Essays and entry forms can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to the APS Education Foundation, P.O. Box 25704, Albuquerque, 87125. The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. May 5.
