ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sherri Burr, a longtime law professor at the University of New Mexico, has been selected as the 2014 New Mexico Communicator of Achievement by the New Mexico Press Women. It is the group’s highest honor.
Burr, named Regents Professor at the UNM School of Law in 2012, is the Press Women’s vice president and chair of its Bylaws Committee. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Princeton University and Yale Law School, she has written or co-written 20 books and published hundreds of articles. Her latest book is “A Short & Happy Guide to Financial Well-being.” She has been a UNM faculty member since 1988.
“It’s a great honor, and the New Mexico Press Women is a great organization – very supportive of women and men in the media,” Burr said Friday.
