SANTA FE, N.M. — Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies on Sunday night twice shot a beanbag at a woman suspected of stealing a motor vehicle.
At about 9:30 p.m., deputies pulled over Andrea Sandoval, 32, near Bridge and Goff SW in the South Valley, according to a BCSO news release.
Sandoval was “extremely combative” and ran from police.
Deputies shot a beanbag round, and Sandoval continued to fight with police until police fired the nonlethal weapon a second time, according to the BCSO.
Sandoval, after being taken into custody, refused medical treatment and was arrested on suspicion of receiving or transferring a stolen motor vehicle and evading.
