Shots fired at Albuquerque police officers Tuesday night

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are asking the public for help finding the driver of a white Ford Crown Victoria sedan who allegedly fired shots at police officers Tuesday night.

Police said they arrived near the 1300 block of Wyoming NE around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday after getting reports of shots fired from a moving vehicle. As they interviewed the witness, APD spokeswoman Sgt. Ferris Simmons said, multiple shots were fired at the officers and the witnesses.

The officers took cover and protected the witness, Simmons said, and no one was injured.

Simmons said no officers fired their weapons, and she could not say how much physical damage was done by the bullets. She also did not know how close to the officers the bullets landed, but said the officers felt the fire was “very close” to hitting them.

Police were unable to find the Crown Victoria or its driver and have asked the public to call Northeast Impact detectives at (505)823-4455 if they have any information.
