ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Dealing with travel delays is part of Todd Snider’s life. The 44-year-old singer/songwriter’s Fourth of July travels were delayed, so he had to adjust.
“It goes with the territory,” he says during a recent phone interview. “I just have to take another look at my day and move things around. It’s usually never a big problem.”
Snider is known for his easygoing style and the stories he tells through music. He’s touring in support of his latest album, “Todd Snider Live: The Storyteller,” which was released in February.

“It’s been a fun ride to be able to take my music and present it to an audience,” he says. “It’s amazing that after nearly 17 years of music, people are still willing to listen.”
“The Storyteller” is Snider’s third live album and is comprised of older songs. He says there are some songs from a show in Nashville in 2010, as well as live recordings from the Bonaroo Music Festival.
“I think there are some songs from three or four other cities, but I’ve lost count,” he says. “Usually, it’s difficult to remember where I played the show.”
Snider says he enjoys putting together live albums more than studio records because he’s a student of folk.
“I love Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and Jerry Jeff (Walker) and Arlo Guthrie,” he says. “So, I like to tour and I like to do the shows as much as I like to do the record, and it is different. So, I like it. Even though they’re songs that are already out, I know that people will enjoy it.”
On his current tour, Snider is getting the opportunity to tour with Walker – one of his idols.
“It’s amazing because his records were some of the first that inspired me to be a musician,” he says. “I remember picking up his albums as a kid and listening to them. He’s one of the reasons I’m a musician today and we get to perform together, which makes this tour even more amazing.”
While Snider is out touring in support of his live album, he says he is close to releasing a solo album of new material. While he’s on tour, he finds the time to write lyrics and puts them in his computer.
