ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Power as of about 6:50 p.m. has been restored to the estimated 78 homes near San Pedro and Interstate 40 where lightening had knocked out a transformer shortly after midnight, PNM spokeswoman Susan Sponar said.
Workers needed to bring in a crane to replace the transformer, Sponar said.
The overnight storm left a lot of damage, Sponar said, and heavy crews were out all day long today restoring electricity to affected areas.
PNM crews also worked to restore power at smaller outages in Albuquerque, including one at near 12th Street and Lomas NW that affected 30 customers and another at Ortega Road NW west of Fourth Street that affected 32 customers. Sponar said she did not know the cause of those outages.
