In honor of its first anniversary, Amore has added 12 new pizzas, plus calzones and lunch panini. The lineup now includes a “specialty” pizza slate where new choices include the likes of the Pistachio Pesto Pie.
Customers also now have the choice of gluten-free pizza crust for an additional $3.
Co-owner Gabriel Amador said customers consistently requested gluten-free pizza, so he experimented with various gluten-free flours until he believed he had a worthy dough offering.
“Ironically, it is from Italy, from the same manufacturer we get our (regular) flour from,” he said.
Amore is located at 2929 Monte Vista NE.
Pizza action is also heating up on the West Side, where WisePies is now cooking at 6261 Riverside Plaza Lane, near the Coors/Montaño intersection.
It is the second location of WisePies Pizza & Salad, a concept founded by Vernon’s Hidden Valley Steakhouse owner Michael Baird. A third should open next month at the Unser Pavilion.
Customers at WisePies design their own personal pizza (or salad) by walking the service line and choosing from various crust, sauce and topping options. Like Amore, it also offers a gluten-free option.
