The entry for the challenge will be one burger, which must be cooked on-site in the Agriculture Building Courtyard on Main Street in Albuquerque. All ingredients used in the competition must promote New Mexico agribusiness and include a meat or vegetable patty, cheese and green chile. The green chile used must be from a New Mexico ‘home grown’ location.
Contestants are required to provide all cooking material and equipment including grill, ingredients, tools, table and skirting and popup tent to cover the burger preparation area.
Applications to enter the contest must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 13 by the New Mexico State Fair Office. A $25 nonrefundable application fee must accompany all applications. Participation in the competition is limited to 10 restaurants. If more than 10 applications are received, the drawing for positions will be held on Aug. 19.
