ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It looks like Albuquerque’s West Side could get its own BJ’s.
The California-based restaurant-brewery chain has applied for a city permit to build a new location at Cottonwood Mall, south of Dillard’s.
The Cottonwood BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse would measure about 7,200 square feet and seat 218 guests, according to plans filed with the city.
The project’s timeline remains unclear. A BJ’s representative did not immediately respond to Journal messages, though Land Clark, the city’s chief building official, said the plans are subject to several reviews – such as those related to fire and mechanical issues – before the city would issue a permit.
BJ’s Restaurants Inc. currently has 151 casual dining restaurants around the U.S.
The company came to Albuquerque in 2012, opening the state’s first BJ’s at Winrock Town Center.
