Blake’s Lotaburger continues El Paso expansion

blakesburgerBlake’s Lotaburger has officially made it a double in El Paso.

The Albuquerque-based hamburger chain opened its second out-of-state location today, cracking the doors open at a new restaurant on El Paso’s east side at 12371 Edgemere.

That makes 77 locations for the 62-year-old burger brand, and there are more in the works.

Blake’s will open its first-ever University of New Mexico location this week, and the company also plans to add a third El Paso location in late 2014 or early 2015, according to Craig Wood, business development manager for Blake’s.

Wood remains mum on any out-of-state expansion beyond El Paso, saying the Texas border city is “where we’re focused at today.”

Blake’s opened its first El Paso store earlier this year. Wood said it has fared “very, very well.”
