Golf tip of the week

Driving for distance

I have yet to meet a golfer who did not want to hit the ball farther. Your tee shot is the most important full swing shot you have. How good does it feel to have a great tee shot

The biggest detriment to “Driving for Distance” is tension. Keep in mind, we do not grip the club, we hold it. On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being the hardest you can hold the club – you want to be a 4. Make sure your arms and hands are hanging naturally under your shoulders. More players are reaching for the ball and end up hitting the ball on the toe of the club. Shots on the toe reduce distance, in addition to direction. Club head speed and squareness of contact are the major influences in distance. Proper driver loft and shaft flex are keys, as well. Correct equipment for each golfer ensures the maximum in distance and consistency. Let’s make your swing better for you, not to make you a new swing.
