HOBBS – A pet rescue organization says a female pit bull mix in southeastern New Mexico is recovering after someone poured acid on her.
The Hobbs News-Sun reported that animal advocate Pat Huntley said the injured dog was discovered last week after she wandered into a Lovington yard.
Huntley said veterinarian believes the attack was deliberate.
Huntley said the dog had to undergo emergency surgery that required the removal of damaged tissue.
A veterinarian said it will take three to four weeks for the dog to recover.
No one has been arrested in the case.
