The first-ever Rebel Donut Dash is set at 8 a.m. Aug. 30 — a Saturday — at Balloon Fiesta Park to benefit The Storehouse nonprofit food pantry.
It’s a 5K donut-themed obstacle course, and at every mile marker’s hydration station the runners get a Rebel Donut, organizers said in a news release, adding, “It’s going to be a blast.”
Runners will tackle challenging obstacles guaranteed to work up their appetite. There’s the Dirty Dozen Donut Maze, the Sprinkle Swim, the Coffee Stir Stick, and the Frying Pan, to name a few. And of course, they’ll face them all while devouring delicious Rebel Donuts strategically placed throughout the course.
The event features live music, games, food trucks, a beer tent, and of course a donut eating contest. It’s geared for all athletic skill levels – from folks who just got up off the couch to those who have been running for years, organizers said.
Entry fee for the run is $60 per person. To Register: visit active.com
