Community leaders on Tuesday celebrated the groundbreaking for University of New Mexico Hospitals’ new $4.9 million outpatient clinic in the North Valley.

The North Valley Center for Family and Community Health being built at 3401 Fourth NW is set to open next spring.

It will include primary care, pediatric care and women’s health services, hospital officials have said.

“We are very excited about this welcome addition to our neighborhood,” Richard Sandoval, president of the Near North Valley Neighborhood Association, said in a news release. “It will bring us comprehensive health care services, which we don’t have now, and new life to Fourth Street.”
