Video shows scary armed robber with ‘Old West’ gun at Santa Fe store

SANTA FE, N.M. — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdBmcgKymuI

The Santa Fe police are searching for a man who threatened a store clerk at gunpoint and forced her to her knees, handcuffed her in a back room and then stole an undisclosed amount of money from the Check ‘n Go  at 2641 Cerrillos Rd., near the intersection of Cerrillos and Camino Carlos Rey, just after 10 a.m. Monday.

The robber used a white all-terrain vehicle for his get-away and wore a riding helmet during the robbery.

Surveillance video shows the suspect drive up to the business in the white ATV. Once inside the store, he pulled out what is described by the female clerk, age 31, as an “old western style,” long-barrel, six-shooter type, gray handgun.

The video shows the suspect threatened the woman with the gun; forced her to get on her knees and then searched the store looking for cash. He then demanded the store clerk’s pink Coach-brand purse and as she pleaded with him to leave, he handcuffed her to a doorknob in the back room of the business.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, about 5’9” tall with a thin build and possibly a handlebar mustache. Police say they’re concerned the suspect could become more violent if he is not apprehended quickly.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Detective Tony Trujillo at (505) 955-5067 or Santa Fe Police at (505) 428-3710. Callers can remain anonymous.
