‘Better Call Saul’ to premiere on Feb. 8-9

Feb. 8 and 9 will be the dates for the premiere of “Better Call Saul.”

AMC announced that the “Breaking Bad” prequel will premiere over two nights. It will then begin airing its regularly schedule of Monday nights.

The series is set six years before “Breaking Bad” and follows follow the transformation of Jimmy McGill, played by  Bob Odenkirk, a small-time, not-very-successful lawyer, into “Saul Goodman,” the ace attorney of the crime world.,

It is created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould and the show is said to be lighter than “Breaking Bad.”

Jonathan Banks, known to “Breaking Bad” fans as the crime world fixer Mike Ehrmantraut, will reprise his role in the series.

Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian and Michael Mando are all new additions to the series.

“Better Call Saul” was given a 10-episode first season, but has already been renewed for a 13-episode second season even before it aired. The series wrapped up production this fall in the Duke City where it was housed at Albuquerque Studios.
