ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Journal website, ABQjournal.com, was taken down for several hours this morning after someone posted an altered version of the newspaper’s story on the slaying of New Mexico State Police officer Robert Rosenbloom 43 years ago by a man who has taken refuge in Cuba.
The alteration inserted under the reporter’s byline purported to be a threat from the radical group ISIS.
The story was removed and the website was put back up, with an unaltered version of the story.
Information Systems Director Monty Midyette said the newspaper’s servers were not breached and the alterations appear to be limited to that story.
He also said there was no data breach.
The FBI has been notified.
