New Mexico state police investigators say a Milan police officer is facing charges after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her during a night out.
James Watters was arrested this week after the 20-year-old woman told police she was forced to perform oral sex during a Dec. 25 incident on the New Mexico State University-Grants campus.
The woman told investigators that another man, 28-year-old Jessie Terrazas, also forced her to touch him inappropriately.
Police say the three had been drinking.
The 25-year-old Watters was charged with criminal sexual penetration and giving alcoholic beverages to a minor. Terrazas also faces an alcohol charge and one count of criminal sexual contact.
It was unknown if the men had attorneys.
Watters was being held in the Cibola County jail on a $100,000 bond. Terrazas was being held on a $50,000 bond.
