Marble named one of 7 U.S. breweries ‘to keep an eye on’

tedricefromdeanALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Marble Brewery’s national profile might have just grown a little bit more.

In a story on Food & Wine magazine’s website, the Albuquerque brewery was listed as one of seven “breweries to keep an eye on in 2015.”

The story notes that there are now more than 3,000 craft breweries in the U.S. but singles out seven to watch in 2015. Writer Chris Mah indicates that Marble already had an award-winning history but that it “broke through in a big way” with its 2014 showing at the Great American Beer Festival, where it won Small Brewing Company and Small Brewing Company Brewer of the Year awards.

“Albuquerque is quietly becoming a beer town, and expect Marble to lead the way,” Mah writes.

Marble makes the list alongside breweries from Seattle and Austin, among others.

Ted Rice, Marble’s president, co-owner and brewmaster, said it’s impossible to quantify the impact of such publicity, but that winning major competitions and getting positive media coverage certainly helps build momentum.

It “all just kind of adds up to great things,” he said.
