’90S FLASHBACK: The Downs Racetrack & Casino is holding a house party in honor of that era

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The ’90s is one of my favorite eras. It was all that and a bag of chips.

I still can’t get enough of the music. But I probably can do without the fashion. Like I would be sporting that anymore. As if!

It seems The Downs Racetrack & Casino also is down with that era and is remembering those days with a “’90s House Party” on Jan. 31 in its First Turn Lounge. The event will be held from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. and feature some crunk hip-hop, slammin’ R&B and bangin’ pop to help you get jiggy with it on the dance floor. Some grungy alternative also will take you back in the day. Hear and see the music on a 17-inch by 10-inch LED TV.

Come in your stylin’ ’90s attire that will make everyone say, “Oh, snap!” Then enter yourself into the costume contest and win something. Dude, don’t forget about the drink specials going on all night, too. Don’t be a buzz kill and show up to this hella good party. There’s no cover charge and you just need to be 21 years or older to enter.

Be sure to roll out to The Downs’ gaming floor and check out the 40 new slot machines it has added to its casino floor. There also will be a Mustang sports car giveaway on Jan. 30 with nine cash winners. Earn entries daily up until the drawing.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, earn five times the entries for your chance to win the car. And, make sure you’re playing your favorite slots on Thursday, Jan. 29, at The Downs. There will be a special bonus of 10 times the entries that day.
