Sweetheart specials: Dining to gaming, area casinos are ready to share the love

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Love is in the air this month at area casinos.

Several casinos in Albuquerque and beyond have your Valentine’s Day bases covered whether your heart skips a beat for the thrill of winning some cool cash and prizes, or pounds for the savory foods being offered during Valentine’s-themed dinners and buffets.

SANTA ANA STAR CASINO: Santa Ana is bringing the love this Valentine’s Day with its “Baskets and Bracelets” hot-seats promotion. Hot-seat drawings will be held from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14. One guest each hour will win a deluxe Valentine’s Day gift basket full of goodies including a bracelet. In addition, guests sitting to the right and left of a winner will receive beautiful charm bracelets.

Show your taste buds some love and head over to the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart seafood and prime rib buffet from 4-10 p.m. Saturday at The Feast buffet. Special desserts will be served and every lady will receive a flower. The special buffet is $23.95 for adults.

Next door, spice things up during the Valentine’s Dinner at Sadie’s at The Star. Enjoy a four-course meal with a special someone from 4-10:30 p.m. Saturday for $55 per couple. Don’t forget to make reservations by calling 771-7140.

Continue to feel the love through Feb. 28 at Santa Ana Star Casino during its “$100,000 Snow Bunny Money Giveaway.” Each week five winners will be selected. Four will win cash and free play prizes and one will play for his or her chance at $100,000. Drawings are held at 8 p.m. every Saturday this month.

THE DOWNS RACETRACK & CASINO: It’s time to dress up and head over to The Crown Room for a fine-dining experience this Valentine’s Day from 4-10 p.m. The Crown Room at The Downs is offering dinner for two for $59.99. Select your choice of shrimp raviolis, house calamari or chipotle cherry duck relleno to start.

Then choose either Romeo’s Heart salad or Juliet’s Heart soup. That’s followed by your choice of entree: osso buco, freshly grilled monkfish, New York steak and shrimp or shrimp scampi. Wrap up the dinner with something sweet. Choose from Bananas Foster for two, House Peach Foster for two, carrot cake or chocolate cake.

Come back to The Downs on Monday, Feb. 16, to receive six times the entries return every Tuesday this month for five times the entries for a chance to win your share of $20,000 in the “Weekend of Winners” drawings on Feb. 27 and 28 when 40 winners will receive $500 cash. SKY CITY CASINO: Sky City is showing its love for Valentine’s Day with “A Dozen Roses of Cash” promotion from 4-9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A total of $3,000 will be given away. Patrons can win between $150 to $400 cash each day.

On Monday, guests will get their chance at “Presidential Cash,” when Sky City Casino will be giving away $2,500 in total cash prizes. Two lucky winners will be drawn each hour between 5-9 p.m. Monday to win $250 cash.

Celebrate Fat Tuesday during the A.B.E. Mardi Parti Parade on Tuesday. Cheer on the Sky City crew as they showcase their creative and crazy Mardi Gras floats as they march throughout the casino beginning at 6 p.m.

The week wraps up Thursday when the Jade Tiger Kung Fu performers will bring good fortune, happiness and prosperity in honor of the Chinese New Year.
