Comedian Dennis Miller has been performing with Bill O’Reilly for the past three years.

It’s a road Dennis Miller didn’t see, but it’s working out to be a great gig.

The comedian found good chemistry with political commentator Bill O’Reilly a few years ago. The pair decided to take the act on the road, and for nearly three years they have been traveling around the country performing.

“I didn’t expect this gig to last this long,” Miller says during a recent phone interview. “It’s fun to get out on the road and bring a little bit of Bill’s show to the masses.”

Miller’s breakthrough came in 1985 when he joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” Since then, he’s hosted the late-night TV show “The Dennis Miller Show” as well as “Dennis Miller Live,” which aired on HBO from 1994-2002.

While Miller has focused on his TV career, he’s also found time to host his radio show, “The Dennis Miller Show,” which recently wrapped up its eight-year run.

He’s also been featured on Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” as a political commentator. This is where he met O’Reilly and discussions for the tour began.

Miller tries to keep busy and likes to keep his career as diverse as possible.

“This is all better than the stand-up comedy life,” he says. “I did that for so long. Comedy is where my heart is at, but the life that comes with that is a hard one.”

With the “Don’t Be a Pinhead!” tour, Miller says he and O’Reilly put on a show that is mostly commentary, but has some comedy in it.

“When the tour started years ago, we didn’t think it would run longer than a year,” he says. “We’re riding the wave and people are showing up and having a good time listening to what we have to say.”
