Police arrest domestic violence suspect after search

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police say they arrested a man they were searching for Tuesday morning in connection with a felony domestic violence incident.

Police said in a social media post that they had set up a perimeter near Domingo and Mesilla NE to catch the man, and later posted that he had been captured. They didn’t say if they believed the man was armed.

Officer Tanner Tixier, an APD spokesman, said the man broke into a home while hiding from police and will be charged with residential burglary, along with false imprisonment.

He was bitten on the arm by a police dog and received medical attention at the University of New Mexico Hospital, Tixier said.
