SANTA FE, N.M. — What goes around comes around — especially in Santa Fe.
This time, the cycle will benefit fans of Cafe San Estevan, which drew lovers of upscale New Mexican cuisine to Agua Fria Street after it opened almost a decade ago and closed only a few years later.
Chef Estevan Garcia will bring an updated version of his restaurant, Estevan, to Hotel Chimayo just off Santa Fe’s Plaza at 125 Washington Ave. A news release sets the opening for early May. That announcement touts Estevan as the first locally sourced northern New Mexico restaurant in Santa Fe, saying it will serve Chimayo red and green chile, along with locally produced goat cheese, lamb, chicken, produce, and even beer, wine and spirits.
A special menu also will be developed for the hotel’s Low ‘n Slow Lowrider Bar.
