Reservoir restoration

SANTA FE, N.M. — Back in September 2013, restoration work started on two reservoirs in the Santa Fe Watershed that capture snowmelt from the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and store it as a source for the city’s tap water.

With Rio Grande water made available through the Buckman Direct Diversion project, the city was able to drain one at a time to update both McClure and Nichols reservoirs.

Work has been completed on Nichols and that reservoir has been refilled, while restoration is ongoing at McClure, with that work expected to be completed by November.
