American Pharoah might have taken the Kentucky Derby last Saturday, but the Triple Crown fun continues at Santa Ana Star Casino through June.

The casino is bringing the excitement of horse racing to its gaming floor with its “Santa Ana Stakes” promotion. Patrons will get the chance to win up to $1,000 in cash during each race, which will be held at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on May 17 and June 7.

Qualifying guests will receive a race ticket that features a first-, second- and third-place horse selection. Players earn a race ticket when they earn 50 points playing their favorite Santa Ana Star casino games. Participants also will receive a cool Santa Ana Star Casino derby hat to keep guests in the racing spirit.

On promotion dates, horse races also will be shown on monitors throughout the casino at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. After each of the races, guests who have a race ticket that finished in a win, exacta or trifecta can redeem their prizes at the Star Rewards Club, according to a Santa Ana Star Casino news release. Translation, a win means a first-place winning horse, exacta means first- and second-place horses in a race in exact order, and trifecta means first-, second- and third-place horses in a race in exact order.
