With so many to choose from, deciding which libations to sample won’t be easy at Blues & Brews

A wonderland of 70 breweries awaits you at Albuquerque Blues & Brews on Sunday.

Every year the event grows bigger in size and in its list of beer, cider and spirit offerings. Another music stage also has been added to this year’s event to keep the party going with live entertainment.

The admission price gets you through the gate with a souvenir tasting glass to fill with unlimited samples.

Craft beers from a vast array of breweries from around the country including: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Texas and Vermont will be available for sampling. Some Belgian breweries also will be paying the event a visit. Representatives from each of the breweries, cideries and spirit providers also will be on hand to provide information about each of their products.

New Mexico craft beers also have a good presence at the event. There will be 20 breweries from the Land of Enchantment offering up some of their best brews, according to event organizer Marne Gaston. New Mexico participants include: Abbey Beverage Company, Pi Brewing Co., Marble Brewery, Ponderosa Brewing Co., Red Door Brewing Co., Canteen Brewhouse, Rio Grande Brewing Co., Duel, Sandia Chile Grill & Brewery, Santa Fe Brewing Co., Sierra Blanca Brewing Co., Kellys Brew Pub, and Tractor Brewing Co.

Firkin BrewHouse, which has plans to open an Albuquerque location in the near future, also will be part of Blues & Brews. Get a sneak peak of its specialty handcrafted beer before it opens its doors to the public.

Belgian breweries St. Bernardus out of Watou, Belgium, and Verhaeghe from Vichte, Belgium, are new to Blues & Brews. Both will be bringing their Belgian creations for tasting.

Those who prefer something other than beer will have some tasty options.

“We have four cideries coming out, which is a gluten-free option or for those who don’t drink beer,” Gaston said. “We also are doing liquor sampling. We have gin, vodka, flavored vodka, rum and a unique shimmery liqueur that’s fun and different.”

Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Stella Artois CĂdre, Johnny Appleseed Hard Apple Cider, Woodchuck Hard Cider and Wyder’s Hard Cider will fulfill the cider niche. Sparkler Viniq Shimmery Liqueur will be offering samples of its fusion of premium vodka, moscato and natural fruit flavors concoction.

Kiss Mix will be offering its premium liquor cocktails, which include Cosmopolitan, Screwdriver, Gin Tonic, Lemon Drop and Margarita.
