ABQ Museum seeks volunteer docents

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Albuquerque Museum is looking for volunteers to help fulfill its mission of getting the community involved in art and history.

The museum hosts more than 100,000 visitors annually and offers guided tours and programs to visitors from varied backgrounds, age levels and abilities.

Trained volunteers, or docents, make these guided experiences possible.

Prospective docents should be comfortable speaking in public, enjoy interacting with a wide range of people and have a passion for learning and giving back to the community.

A mandatory training course will be held at both the museum and Casa San Ysidro this fall.

Apply now by downloading an application at cabq.gov/museum.

A completed background check is required before beginning the training.

For more information on the training at the Albuquerque Museum, contact Theresa Sedillo, senior assistant for education, at 243-7255 or tasedillo@cabq.gov.

For information on the training at Casa San Ysidro, contact Carol Lopez, site manager, at 897-8828 or cklopez@cabq.gov.
