Route 66 Casino Hotel has made it more tempting to plan a staycation at its newly remodeled hotel.

The hotel’s rooms and suites recently underwent a $2 million revamp to move toward further encompassing Route 66’s “Get Your Kicks” branding throughout the hotel. The re-do kicked off last December and Route 66 proudly unveiled the newly renovated 154 hotel rooms and suites in mid-July.

The plan was to create a place where guests could comfortably stay and admire the attention to detail that captures the “classic nostalgia” and “fun” that has defined Route 66 Casino Hotel, according Route 66 General Manager Tim Perkins.

The clean smell of new carpeting and fresh paint greets you as you enter the hotel hallways. There also is a brighter, more open feel to the areas leading to and from the elevators. It is most likely due to the new carpeting made up of swirls of purples, golds with touches of colors as cheerful as confetti. But the carpeting is tasteful and a complement to the rooms and suites, which are more subdued.

New wallpaper, drapes and furniture in warm earth tones with subtle splashes of vibrant colors decorate each room. Artwork and playful carpet patterns add to the ambience. The VIP suites are similar to the standard rooms with a slightly varied color palate and incorporate royal plum, teal, mink, taupe and cream, according to Interactive Media Manager Janis DeLaney.

It might be hard to leave the bed behind when your stay wraps up. Each room offers a king or two queen beds topped with a Simon Beautyrest mattress, white linens, plush pillows and a throw blanket. But you can bring home that luxury through a special purchase program between Route 66 and Simon Beautyrest.

To make the rooms even more cozy, every bathroom is stocked with Bath & Body Works toiletries. Bathrooms also feature spacious cabinets beneath each vanity that includes a free standing mirror. The shower heads and shower curtains also have been upgraded as well as lighting fixtures that brighten up the space.

Hotel guests also have access to an indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor sundeck, a fitness and business center, bell service and valet parking. In-room massage packages and floral arrangements also are available as add-on services.

But, if you need to work or stimulate your mind, each room offers a flat-screen HD television with cable and pay-per-view movies, an iHome docking station clock radio, Internet access and complementary Wi-Fi.

Bring the kids and leave the babysitting duties to Route 66 if you want to enjoy some adult time at dinner or take in a concert in Route 66’s Legends Theater. Kids Quest offers hourly child care for ages six weeks and older. The area offers play areas appropriate for babies and toddlers and a separate play area for young children under age 12.

Cyber Quest is a nonviolent arcade area for ages 12 and up that offers a supervised family entertainment center appropriate for all ages. The area is open seven days a week. For rates and information, visit kidsquest.com.
