$3 million All American Futurity ready to roll

The 57th running of the $3 million All American Futurity, the richest race for 2-year-old race horses in the world, will be run today at Ruidoso Downs.

The winner of the 440 yard race will earn $1.5 million. Post time is 5:15 p.m.

Here is a look at the field in post position order with morning line odds:

1. MCCLINTOCK B (20-1): The $175,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate won a maiden race at Ruidoso before running second in his All American trial. His trainer is Mike Joiner and he will be ridden by Omar Reyes.

2. LETHAL VOLCOM (20-1): The gelding is a brother to 2014 All American winner Jm Miracle. He was bought for $100,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. He is trained by Victor H. Rodriguez-Flores and ridden by Manuel Gutierrez.

3. SKY BO DASH (5-2): The gelding ran fourth in the Rainbow Futurity. His trainer Sleepy Gilbreath has won the All American three times and his horses have won nearly $28 million. His jockey is Larry Payne.

4. FIRST VALIANT SIGN (2-1): The gelding won the Ruidoso Futurity and was second in the Rainbow Futurity. The son of Valiant Hero was the fastest qualifier on the second day of trials with a time of 21.582 seconds. He is trained by Mike Joiner. His rider, G.R. Carter is the all-time leading quarter horse jockey and has won two All Americans.

5. JESS GOOD CANDY (12-1): His dam produced four-time stakes winner This Candys Awesome. He won his trial in 21.642 seconds for trainer Clinton Crawford. Ivan Carnero is the jockey.

6. GIVING IT ALL (12-1): The gelding is a brother to 2015 Rainbow and All American Derby finalist Fire Fortune. Brian Muse is his trainer and Ramon Sanchez his jockey.

7. HATEFULIST (6-1): The colt has won all four of his starts, including his trial in 21.596 seconds. Salvador Martinez will ride for trainer Paul Jones.

8. TF IM THAT GUY (8-1): The First Down Dash colt ran third in the West Texas Futurity. He won his trial by three-quarters of a length in 21.563 seconds. He is trained by Juan M. Gonzalez and ridden by Joe Badilla Jr.

9. ONE FABULOUS EAGLE (5-1): The colt was the fastest runner on the first day of trials, running the 440 yards in 21.452 seconds. He ran third in the Ruidoso Futurity. His nickname is “Bullet.” Cesar Gomez rides for trainer Kasey Willis.

10. CROOKED PATH (15-1): The only filly in the field is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Oldsmobile Hill. She ran 21.541 seconds in the trials. She is trained by Paul Jones and ridden by Cody Jensen.
