8:05 p.m.
Friday night’s glow, laser and fireworks shows went off without a hitch.

6:10 p.m.
Officials are flying the green flag signaling they believe balloons will inflate for tonight’s Special Shape Glowdeo.

5:50 p.m.
Although the yellow flag is flying at Balloon Fiesta Park, pilots are rolling out their balloons in preparation for tonight’s Special Shape Glowdeo.

4:45 p.m.
Balloon Fiesta officials say the winds are running 3 to 5 mph from the northwest.

9:29 a.m.

Special Shape Rodeo is completed, the crowd is thinning and officials are preparing the field for the flying competition.

7:39 a.m.
Special shape balloons taking part in Friday’s mass ascension are lifting off the field at Balloon Fiesta Park.

7:07 a.m.
Balloons taking part in Friday’s mass ascension are inflating on the field.

6:37 a.m.
Dawn Patrol balloons have lifted off the field and are flying to the south.

6:33 a.m.
Winds are forecast to be 7 to 9 knots near landing sites at the end of flights for balloons taking part in Friday’s mass ascension.

6:32 a.m.
Dawn Patrol balloons have inflated on the field and are preparing for launch.

6:11 a.m.
Officials have raised the green flag signaling conditions are good for Friday’s Special Shape Rodeo.

6:01 a.m.
The laser show has started, but balloons haven’t started to inflate on the field.

5:35 a.m.
There is no wind and the temperature is 48 degrees on the field at Balloon Fiesta Park.

4:55 a.m.
Winds are 10 mph from the east and the temperature is 58 degrees at Albuquerque International Sunport as of 4:52 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Getting there

Traffic is expected to be heavy on I-25 northbound and southbound, and on Tramway and Alameda approaching Balloon Fiesta Park. Check our Balloon Fiesta traffic map for current traffic speeds.

Park & Ride is always running. Here are the locations:

East Side

– Hoffmantown Church – 8888 Harper Road NE, Park in the northeast lot only.
– Cliff’s Amusement Park – 4800 Osuna Road NE near San Mateo and I-25.
– Coronado Mall – 6600 Menaul Boulevard NE, park in the southwest corner near San Pedro.

West Side

– Intel (southern parking lot) – Highway 528/Rio Rancho Blvd. Enter the Park & Ride lot at either Westside Blvd. or 21st street and follow the signs.
– Cottonwood Mall (northeast parking lot) – located at 10000 Coors Bypass near Seven Bar Loop.

Park & Ride prices
Same-day purchase at Park & Ride locations. Balloon Park admission and service charge is included.
– Adults & Seniors (13 and up) – $20
– Children (6-12) – $10
– Children (5 and under) – Free

*Note: There will be no Park & Ride service on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
