Griffin & Associates, Korenchen take top honors

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Griffin & Associates of Albuquerque was awarded the Best of Show in the category of Public Relations Campaigns at the 2015 Cumbre Awards, presented by the New Mexico chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

And James Korenchen Public Relations, an  Albuquerque-based public relations consultancy with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, Tex., Washington D.C. and London, received “Best of Show” for outstanding achievement in Public Relations Tactics for work it did on behalf of TripAdvisor.

Griffin & Associates’  won its award for work it did on behalf of the Town of Taos. In the campaign, Griffin & Associates provided all tourism marketing and public relations promotion, gaining Taos substantial national media attention, according to a release from the firm.

“It’s an honor to receive this award, especially for a campaign that was focused on increasing tourism to one of New Mexico’s amazing locations,” Joanie Griffin, CEO of Griffin & Associates, said in the release. “We love promoting tourism and helping market towns that have unique charm, and it’s great to see the results of having a hardworking team and a fantastic client pay off.”

Griffin & Associates was also awarded a Gold Cumbre award for Integrated Communications Campaigns for the Town of Taos and a Gold Cumbre award for Website Tactics for the Durango Area Tourism website (Durango.org).joaniecropped

Korenchen received a total of seven awards, including three gold Cumbre awards for its work with TripAdvisor, the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center Media Relations program, and the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center Breast Cancer Awareness program.
