ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Denver area will get its first dose of Dion’s this week.
The Albuquerque pizzeria chain will hold a grand opening for its Aurora store on Thursday, marking its formal entry into the Denver market.
CEO Mark Herman told the Journal earlier this year that the plan was to open additional Denver-area stores in the coming years.
It is store No. 21 for the company, which marketing director Deena Crawley has said is aiming to become “the most admired regional restaurant brand in the country.” Dion’s already has stores in Colorado Springs and Lubbock (two) to go along with its 17 New Mexico sites.
The new Aurora restaurant will have the standard Dion’s open kitchen with viewing area but also features a new interior and exterior design not yet used in other locations, according to a news release. It incorporates new and old materials, including refurbished bleachers from a high school gym.
The new, 5,200-square-foot Dion’s is located at 25750 E Arapahoe in Aurora.
