ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — City workers spent the early afternoon Friday cleaning up a massive pile of tumbleweeds that collected on Wyoming SE near the Kirtland Air Force Base.
Melanie Martinez, spokeswoman for Albuquerque’s Department of Municipal Development, said cleanup crews were sent to clean up the tumbleweeds around noon.
She said they were blocking much of the road.
“It was in the public right of way so we had to get it taken care of,” she said.
Crews finished cleaning up Friday afternoon, she said.
